We were dry-docked in Glasgow and one of the other engineers, being a local-yokel, suggested we go out to Greenock to the Clock Hotel, "Where you will have quite a surprise!". He would say no more so off we went.
The 'surprise' was the 'Engine Room Bar' and what a surprise it was!
The fire-place consisted of a Howden furnace-front with pressure-gauges and other articles, you would get in an engine-room, on the bulkheads, (walls!!), and in various positions around the bar.
A memorable visit!
Doubtless all has gone now as it would be meaningless to the modern generation.
Does anyone else remember The Clock Hotel? Phil
