I'm unable to embed YouTube code any more as I get the following error message, both using Edge and Chrome.
I'll just put the link in. As well as shooting people (in film) Clint Eastwood can direct as well as anybody, and compose music !! He composed this for his best film I think, Million Dollar Baby. https://youtu.be/aqX_UUjIc9E

This duo recorded some great ballads in the 1960's. This is one of my favourites.

Saturday morning music.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8I94IiNWc4 This reminds me of "Saturday Club" on the radio, and also Butlins at Clacton on Sea. (We didn't stay there, but our holiday let was well within earshot of the Butlins PA system!) |

That link eventually led me to this, a version of which was used for the very final scene of the film Ocean's 11.
It originated in the 60's. Hey maaaaan …. do I ever miss the 60's … https://youtu.be/UVBfnEs7GI8

I was never really sure that this was a great pop song, but I do like the subject material! (My very first car I owned was a 1969 convertible one of these. I still remember the fun I had in that car when I see this video.)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgoDotf4mo8 It wasn't until I drove it that I understood what the Muscle Car scene was about in the USA. I would like to have it again today, but it was a bit environmentally irresponsible in so many ways. Fuel consumption, emissions, noise, etc. etc. |

Here are two versions of one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
First is the original by Double, then the cover version by Randy Crawford. Which one do you think is best? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9Ohve4zukg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdnSYv6k7hY |

Here's another original and cover version,
First is by The Zombies, cover by Santana. Which is best? (this should not confuse even the terminally tin eared) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBdrDu9nq7Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoz8iXjfH4Y |

Well I'm going for the second one, mainly because I was only 3 when the first one came out (cough) … (how strange, my nose just got longer. )
I should mention Pat that you putting me onto Consider Phlebus got me hooked on Ian M. Banks and I'm now on Culture series book 8. It's like bloody crack cocaine .. I read somewhere they're considering a TV series for this. Beats me how they'll film it.

Just had this from someone I was at school with 60+ years ago.....Long but worth a watch/listen to.
THIS RUNS FOR QUITE A FEW MINUTES ?? BUT IT IS WORTH WATCHING . . . . . The day the music died! American Pie. Although Don McClean only released the song in 1971, for those of us who grew up in the 50’s and 60’s this is a great piece with some very poignant moments in the history of those times. And for those of you who did not, it’s a taste of what you missed! I knew that "American Pie" was the name of the plane in which Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper were killed when it crashed in 1958 – and I knew the chorus about music dying on that day. I have listened to American Pie for many years and I thought I understood what was being sung but now realise that I didn’t! However, when the words are put together with pictures and film clips the song takes on a new meaning. It took a lot of thought to produce this and it brings back lots of memories and also makes the lyrics really come alive! https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=VhX3b1h7GQw&feature=youtu.be geoff |
