You can't be too careful, we don't want any strange outbreaks among the crew.
Best way to treat the llamas is after they have been shorn, their hair can be made into rope which can then be wormed, parcelled and served. (That should get rid of the worms, anyway!)

Pay attention billyboy. I only asked if they had been vetted, not sure why Tom was talking about shearing them and then treating them for worms. Do we know if they have worms? If they do wouldn't we be best to use the worms for fishing, rather than eating. Hmmm, what has Tom been drinking?

There appears to be an echo in here, either that or my ear defenders have suddenly developed stereo capability.

Yes, I think we can stay here overnight (or two) A bit up-market for us -- clean sheets on the beds and place mats and knives AND forks to eat with.

There is a limit to how much it is useful to post on a forum such as this, the definitive version is published annually, rather like Wisden or Hansard.

The llamas do not require worming, the matter is routinely dealt with when they change their pyjamas before coming down the stairs and certainly before they are permitted to chase any teddybears.

As is the case with bananas, one would not want to be taken unawares.

First round is on me.

Tmac, a man held in high regard wherever they hoist a bumper to the gods of dark oily things, I salute you and your marvellous Injuns.

Happy Birthday, your present is this marvellous oak replica of a con rod from our very own original engines that you whittled so many years ago. I bet you thought that had gone, but we located it and had it polished up.

I don't like to carp on such an auspicious occasion (have as many more, Tmac, as you wish yourself) but Whittle'd engines don't have con rods and nor do Messrs Pratt's and Whiney's they do have 'wheels' and often enclosures into which one's Chief Engineer can push one when one hasn't tightened a connection or two one should have (but only at standby Full Ahead, anything else would have alarmed Mrs. Varley and her little boy).

Thank you shipmates one and all for the good wishes. I shall raise a glass or three of Black Bush in your honour this evening as "she who must be obeyed" treats me to some epicurean delights at dinner tonight (probably fish and chips wrapped in newspaper yum yum)

I shall treasure the polished con rod as a cherished keepsake, I always wanted a connector with a big knob on the end

Happy birthday with many more ahead of you. I promise to be kind to you over the next twelve months and will even come down to the injun room and keep all your nobs well polished and cleaned.

You have far too much time on your hands Tom Alexander, surely Mrs Tom has a list of chores for you. Doesn't really give me a solution to the worming of Llamas. By the way, I have been meaning to ask, if we have enough room on the garden/farm deck might we add a few goats?

For anyone that is interested, and is spending Sunday on board, I will be doing a Roast Lamb dinner with all the trimmings followed by an old fashioned trifle made with some beautiful sherry that I discovered in one of the old lockers. Please let me know if you would like to partake.

Sorry Red I cannot be there for the roast lamb.

Good to see you back by the way.

I would be there for the roast lamb but I am presently AWOL (hope that no one wakes up to that) in Lucerne checking out a new form of propulsion called steam and paddle wheels.

I love roast lamb and would bring a bottle or three of red to the festivities. I am sure that your roast lamb will be better than food at the Radisson in Lucerne. There is no way that it could be worse.

Yes its nice to see you're back RED, even nicer to see your front....ahem!!...joke joke.
Yes I will gladly sample your roast Lamb and sherry trifle.

As for the Goats...Best check to make non of the cut outs or plastic stewards are Islamic. I have heard they do indescribable things to Goats.

Oh Tmac said would yo call in at the Funnel suite...something about polishing a knob.

You have that wrong Sir W. It is nearly all terrorists that are Islamic (barring those in enemy occupied Hibernia). When it comes to goats (and other of the mutton tribe) they sin no more than any other, especially when compared to the Welsh (we are told).

Must rush I am meeting some Loaghtans in the spa for a warm dip.

In my experience, you can have goats or you can have trees and shrubs, but not both. If you have goats, you have Billies and no sense of smell or no Billies. Mary's garden is quite vegetably in nature, but even that will not survive goating. Maybe "a" goat, maybe kept at the other end of the deck would be nice.
Roast lamb and sherry trifle to follow? You are a person of great kindness and exquisite taste. In my mind, I can already hear that unique sound a serving spoon makes as it prises out a great dollop of trifle. We will have the very best table cloth, the very finest cutlery and no throwing food.

Plaggy stewards, get your orders from Red-17. This will be civilised and decorous to acknowledge the efforts of Red, I will peel the potatoes.
