MN Heads up

Just browsing TV schedules and found starting today 1 of 6 'The Merchant Navy' on Freeview channel 94 PBS America starting at 1225 hours today. Will record, have found in the past that PBS America has done some very good British History programmes, so am hoping for the best

Not what I expected, but we'll see how it develops, bit different to my day where I earned a degree in chipping and painting, but it did take three and a half years to obtain, but I graduated learning to chip in all temperatures and sea conditions, plus painting deckheads in the rain and decks in the sun

No Rob that was the (Hons) part of the degree, I failed that

But I did get a mention in despatches, when the C/O told me to windy hammer outside the C/stewards cabin, I thought he meant the bulkhead and not the deck! could have been a case of mis-hearing because the new C/S wouldn't give us beers and log them in our slop account as lemonades, also forgot to close his porthole on the morning washdown, we got our men's lemonades back. The C/O knew we were getting beers and not lemonades and had no objection, but it couldn't be shown in the accounts
