Gibraltar 1953/4

Back in the 50s two photo-journalists were out and about on Gibraltar. These might bring some memories, especially if you were hanging around the Trocadero.

Ralph Crane - LIFE Magazine - http://gibraltar-intro.blogspot.com/...ine-ralph.html

Bert Hardy - Picture Post - http://gibraltar-intro.blogspot.com/...must-keep.html

I love them both and thanks for posting this - some amazing photographs of a time gone by!
I particularly love Bert Hardys work - especially the predictable shots of the matelots in the front row - all craning necks to get a glimpse of the dancing girls undies in the Trocadero club!
In the image you posted it looks like a 2 man Scandinavian or Dutch Navy patrol loitering outside 'The Troc' looking for trouble, any info on this image?

Great Pictures Brisray, brought back some great memories, I was there in 52 on the Wave Baron; the pics from the Trocadero, reminded me of the time I was in the front and looking up, the dancers were terrific, the only difference was that it was full of soldiers when I was there, the fleet was out, one of our crew who was a great pianist gave a jazz recital during the interval. The all girl band was entrancing.
