Container Ship Fells Crane

On May 4th the British flagged container ship 'CMA CGM Centaurus' struck two container cranes while berthing at Jebel Ali terminal, Dubai, causing one to collapse and de-railing the second. No fatalities occurred, but ten persons were injured - 9 slightly, 1 moderately.

The people in the building were very lucky, I wonder how big the Wharf fenders are.

I thought that. If that crane had made a fuller contact with the building that could have been a major loss of life disaster ...

Maybe they will learn to place the container cranes abaft the bridge position of the docking ship in future. That was an expensive bump without taking into account berth downtime.
