Watched a programme on Eden Channel during the week, I thought Eden was all about the 10 most venomous critters in Australia and fishes with pointy teeth, but no, it was about U124 and the sinking of H&W 436 the Justicia and there was an old shipmate giving impressive commentary on the ship. Well done.

One of Saga's cruise ships took a bit of a battering recently. I'll batten down the machinery spaces and the Noble Lord will look after the Wardroom Wine.
Where TF are we headed?

He'll get a size 10 in them if he insists on gwenap, the mucky bugger.
And I'll go no further up the river than Hessle, tie up at Richard Dunston's.

Dinner; As Second Engineer Officer on the GD II I do not queue up at a counter with a tray and be issued with "Cottage Pie and Chips"

One wonders if "Pickadish" offers Silver Service.

As for the Patti Slappers i'll leave them to Tmax and BB who are partial to a bit of "Rough".

How about a trip up to Scarbados so that Varley can have a game of bingo and buy a duffle coat from one of the many charity shops

Scarbados, Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea, all terribly twee. I am currently residing in the green, leafy suburbs of South County Dublin where we are free to behave disgracefully. And often do. Perhaps retired seafarers are a different breed to retired Bank Clerks and sweet shop owners.
Yo-Ho Ho-and a bottle of rum.

Mr Wilberforce holds no fear for me, I studied under his benevolent gaze for many years, and never failed an exam. He was a force for good.
Not sure about Mr Carver but you will arrange the Gainsborough to open for a Gala Evening.

Scarbados ... Home of the beautiful "Plaxton" coach bodies. Drove many of them over the years.
Always loved the Plaxton bodied coaches. If you had one on a Leylnd Leopard or AEC chassis you were King of the road back in the day.

Gainsbrough my mum used to take me on a Friday, see through plates and a shell for a ash tray.....And another thing DO NOT send that Mrs Brown crap over to us to watch on Christmas day let the sweary bastard stay in Dublin he needs to crawl back into the bog he came out of, along with his fecking family. It took us 50 years to get shut of Harry Wogan and All Dooligon. And never forget that Hull gave the world David Whitfield.

Eyup Alick, when we were kids we used to ring Davids front door bell, then run like hell it used to play Cara Mia he must of got fed up of us kids doing that as he took it out and put up a set of iron gates with the music notes of Cara Mia on it, if we went Christmas caroling to his house he would let you in and watch you sing in his hallway.

Did you know that famous Hessle Road boy, the late great Joe Longthorne?
Yes, I know he hopped over to the red rose side, but he was born in Hull.
