"She said: “This truly has been a year for the women of Jorvik – not only did they head up the March to Coppergate, leading more than 250 Vikings, but our ‘best beard’ competition had more female than male entrants, with nine women displaying their hand-crafted and styled facial hair.”

My mighty tumescence has faded in the face of this (actually, age has had it's part as well).

Women Writers Only

On hearing of a new 'Women Writers Only' poetry anthology

The gentlemen’s bars are gone.
Sailors have to duck under lines of knickers.
There is nowhere now that a man can be a bloke
without having some bare-midriffed Kylie walk in,
pint in hand, smoking, swearing, spitting;
but WE are to be kept out of THEIR poetry anthologies.
