Hello to All.
Hi,
I saw a link to this site on S.N. so, not being a fan of the new S.N. format, I thought why not give S.H. a try, it certainly closely resembles S. N. of old. I will, however still keep my links with S.N. because there is a lot of good reading/memories still to be had there. I started as E/C with B.P. in 1970 and stayed the course until the "bitter" end in 1986. I declined their repeated offers of re-employment with the manning agencies and started up my own mechanical and electrical contracting business with a partner in 1987. Dropped the mechanical side after a couple of years as the electrical contracting side began to take off and that's how it stayed until I decided to retire 2 years ago. That didn't last long, it seems I'm a much happier person if I keep busy so I now look after the electrical and mechanical maintenance for a timber company with 5 yards all in Jarrow. When maintenance isn't required I just muck in and crosscut or make a few pallets etc to fill the week up. Keeps me fit and out of trouble at home. Doug. |
