Don't forget the knitted cardigans.

He portrayed unflappable, suave, calm under pressure, stiff upper lip type characters better than anybody else.

R.I.P.

Over the years I managed to acquire every Saint book ever published in English; whilst reading them it added a lot to the stories to imagine Roger Moore in whatever the particular situation was.

I enjoyed the movie he was in when he fights off the Bad Guys off of the North Sea Oil Platforms.

Some may remember The Sea Wolves with a quite remarkable cast of older stars and Roger Moore. Apparently based on a true story.

The movie I meant was named "Ffolkes"
Roger Moore trades his license to kill for a wet suit as the oddly named title character in this entertaining if hardly captivating British effort, adapted by Jack Davies from his own novel. Super frogman Ffolkes (Moore) knocks heads with the evil Kramer (Perkins, playing yet another nut case), who threatens to destroy an oil rig if his ransom demands aren't met.

I remember one tv film where he died on an operating theatre for a moment and his alto ego was released.
He spent the rest of the film trying to find who was impersonating him. Eventually they had a car chase and he died going off a bridge and the alto ego wins.
