If that's anything like Old Boys then no, but thank you. Anyway still no improvement taste wise. Glass Pinot Grigio this PM tasted the same as water. Spent rest of evening on water. What's the point of alcohol if you can't enjoy it going down? (You didn't know I knew the flavour of water did you? Catch a few drops every now and again in the shower and I am still blowing the salty version of it up the nose before the steroids).

Now what's this dusty bottle of bubbly? Damn, R.White's lemonade. Ahh what's this? A small case labelled "Bubbly." It's been hiding here for some time, now whatever can it be? Oh. that's no good at all...... Babycham!

No, hold on,..... here we are right at the bottom. Here it is, Dom Ruinart. Will that do Red-17?

There's a bottle of Myers' Rum, Bacardi Gold, Dewar's White Label, several vintages of port, (so David V will be well catered for), Smirnoff Blue, and to wash it all down there's even a couple of cases of Orangeboom.

Just bring some glasses, and if anyone can rustle up some ice cubes and a bucket they will be very welcome.
For heaven's sake man! What philistine puts ice in vintage port?

If she's suffering from footdamp then you need to have your gripewater with tonic rather than Vermouth - that's too strong and will remove her foot varnish.

Orangeboom is a Dutch brew produced in supertanker filling quantities and consumed by thirsty seafarers because;

a) It's cold.
b) It's indestructible and could survive any adverse storage conditions.
c) There's usually nothing else because the agent took a little incentive.

It can also produce epic amounts of foam if you shake up the can or bottle first, and is therefore very handy in dealing with any accidental fires.
To which I might add, that it's a strange brew served in sleezy bars down at the end of Maashaven in Rotterdam. The foam would rise up and in one establishment the barmaid (Coqui -- short for Coquilla) would scrape off the excess with a fancy scapula. When I told her that in England we blew the head off the beer, she obliged by blowing beer all over my shirt saying "Like this?" I vaguely remember it tasting of something like a shandy made with weak beer and onion water. It did have a habit of catching up with you though. The proper way to pronounce the name is with a hard "g" -- Oran-gi-boom. It's main firefighting abilities were mainly evident a short while after consumption.

OK - bring it on Tmac. My bucket of over strength sougee vs your shifter says I'll either have your boiler suit squeeky clean in ten minutes or have it reduced to the metal zipper and the rivets on the pockets. (Personal experience -- pair of jeans disappeared in the bucket of sougee overnight)

No -- i haven't and I'm only about 100 miles away from Pats. SSR is only about as close as Perth is to Sydney.

Singing beer, that was my favourite. Nothing like the bass notes ringing around the beer-charged sinuses to bring a tear to your eyes.

Can't play cards, I can't count to more than three.

I have seen before the effects of your sougee liquid has on my outer garments despite copious amounts of residual oil and grease so if you think I'm gonna wrestle you in the nuddy (either you or me) you are barking up the wrong foremast

I always thought carbon tet was the boiler suit cleaning fluid of choice. It was at one time stored in very convenient dispensing devices hooked onto the bulkhead.

Heard once the RAF guys soaked their uniforms in Avgas before hanging them out to dry behind the hangar.

Tannoy: attention all crew. there will be party in the PAX lounge this evening. all eats and drinks are on me.
Not every day I am 75 year old (never thought I would live this long). Getting old is not so bad when you think of the alternative though.

Sir William -- Glad to join you -- Happy Birthday and this is also my 57th wedding anniversary -- don't know how she put up with me for that long. Least I can do is split the bill with you!

Now - regarding beer songs --- if you can keep up with this lot ( you need a few s first) ---- you are doing very well.

OK - let's call it a draw -- We can discuss the lubricating qualities of Black Bush and Pusser's on the steering flat at 20:00 hours.

Indeed. Happy to join you for a lightly chilled tap water Sir W. Hopefully I will have recovered for your next birthday, should you make it of course (and even if you don't that won't stop your shipmates from celebrating. Just make sure there's something about settling your bar bill in the old testamentary documentation will you?) Cheers, and have as many more as you would wish for yourself.

Time to break out the grog and splice as many main braces as you can see, Sir William.

75 not out, eh? A pretty good innings I think.

Cheers!

Would you like us to give you the bumps, Sir William?

Two to a corner, we should be able to get you 6 feet high, I reckon.

I think Sir William is always high - especially when he is laying flat on the deck.

Where the heck is our cook?? I strung a couple of lines over the stern and snagged several nice Mahi mahi -- Also got a bottle of Vancouver island malt vinegar made from the products of a local craft brewery. I'm sure there's some potatoes up in Mary's garden ---- So we have the makings of some nice fresh fish and chips. I''ve also got a few cases of Wolf Brewery India Pale Ale to wash it down --brewed right in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Good stuff.

Some bloody navigator that. Vancouver part of India? I had thought we were more in need of a moral compass but for heaven's sake get the gyro fixed before Bushy's ends up on the subcontinent too.
