Bill Smith must be quite famous, although I never met him myself!

I met a yacht owner from BC when we were in Acapulco. When I told him I was from Torquay, he knew it well having skippered a D Fairmile based in Brixham in the War. I also met someone in Pa. whose parents lived in the same road in Torquay as my family.

Small World?

I met a man here in the philippines who came from Lewes in Susex, 7 miles from where I was born and brought up. He had the same name as me too. He used to deliver fuel to my late fathers tug and also knew of my oldest Brother. yet we are not related in the slightest. (my dad couldnt afford a bike.

Galveston tomorrow -- don't need to go into Houston. I suggested that we qaulify as a cruise ship so we are booked in to berth at Terminal 1. The U.S. Army will bring secure transport to pick up our slippery cargo. Wells Fargo will send an armoured car with the bullion with which we are getting paid. Night before docking party on the pool deck --- we'll need the practice for the string of beach front bars in town there.

An electric buggering bronco? That sounds like an adventure too far. Imagine it's breath on your cheek.

Don't need it young sir, I have a large patch of chockfast resin mixed with copious amounts of Araldite on the arse of my "going ashore" boilersuit. A bomb couldn't shift me once I sit down.

I used to worry about this "degrees of separation" malarkey, having met a former girl friend of Bob Dylan and shaken her hand. I didn't let my mind dwell too long on what I might be separated from, or by what degree.

It was your query about a Stiffy that reminded me.

Here we go -- flashing lights, sirens, armed guards, men in black suits wearing sunglasses even though it's the middle of the night. AND that's just the pizza delivery.

You stick to the flying fock and leave the electricals to one who knows about them.

Just wondering Tmac, have you received your invitation to 'The Wedding'? Would imagine that your best and cleanest boiler suit would be the way to go, sounds like it could be a fiery occasion.

Yes folks, I am back on board and have been watching all your goings on from afar. Seems like we only had a day in Jamaica and goodness knows why we are heading for Houston????? There are no pearly beaches and suntanned, good looking men there. Oh, sorry, am I sounding desperate? All I seem to have heard recently is about bars and red light districts.

I thought that I had signed onto a crew of gentleman, silly me.

I am off to bed now to dream of lots of white sand beaches, Pina coladas and handsome men. Might just wear my red bikini to bed tonight. Hummmm???

Alas young lady my invite must have been lost in the post but more likely my past indiscretions have caught up with me although I once had the pleasure of meeting Harry's granny. Very nice lady, gave me a lovely badge

We may miss Houston and dock in Galveston instead. How ever did Glenn Campbell manage to make a hit song out of Galveston?

Actually we had three days in Jamaica, but time flies when you are having fun.

Now in Galveston -- there are literally miles and miles of white sandy beach on the East side, bordering the Gulf of Mexico. Lots of lifeguard stations spaced out along the beach, so I'm sure you can find some well tanned hunk to satisfy your desparation. We'll keep an eye on you (for you personal safety's sake of course) from the bars across the beach front road.
