Fruit & Veg Market

As a schoolboy me and my mates would go down this street (during school holidays and Saturday mornings) and collect Fruit & Veg that had fallen off the lorries and barrows that were left where they fell (some damaged but still edible). We also collected used damaged Fruit & Veg boxes to cart home for firewood. 'Happy Days'. The street has several bars now and is used for 'The Humber Street Sesh. It is located just off the Marina, and not far from the old Trinity House. HULLs former fruit market. >

No matter how big the crowd, there's bound to be somebody with a 'phone glued to their ear.

When I was a kid I used to follow the baker, milkman and rag 'n bone man around the neighbourhood and collect their horses poop in a bucket. When I had a wheelbarrow full I would sell it to the local butcher for 5 shillings. (He used to put it on his prize rhubarb patch

Thanks for the clarification about the rhubarb Tom. You had me worried there for a minute. Butchers and sausages were my immediate but, thankfully, incorrect thought.

From a dispute about a horse and rider trying to get served at a drive through food outlet. >
