I kept the amount of pieces low until I find the right level. That was one of the problems with 'jigsawplanet'. The play could alter how many pieces that were posted. That went against what I had decided. Some like more, some like less. I will try and make it a level playing field. There is no rush to complete a puzzle. Those who don't like large numbers should just take their time.

Correct. I sometimes leave something on, especially if it is such a big part of the image. Pennant numbers on naval vessels make it easier to ID them, but you still have to look them up. I had to delete two puzzles because he who cheats named them and thought I would say OK and give him a thumbs up.
