From a slightly extrovert chap (being one that takes his ideas from around him) I suddenly became, over a beer, a deeply introverted intellectual wearing an extrovert persona. The former might not have caused mirth but the latter, side splitting.

Ahem, nothing 'wrong' with your brother I hope Tmac?
I agree with you about shoes but it is not I you need to convince but charterers. Look out for subsidiaries of Every Shoe, Sole-Oil, British Plimsoll and Try EXploding Antique Cotton Overshoes. They are all at it. You can't put Dr. Rudolph back in the box. If we could burn shit in aircraft engines it is really the least we expect of an injunear of your colourbry.

NOT in our main engines! maybe in one of our old genny's. Our main engines are very special and take the utmost care to look after in order to maintain their supreme performance.
They are not like engines you may be familiar with. Thats as much as I am allowed to tell you about them.

They're the only Doxfords made with a kick starter. Tmac has trim thighs that Red 17 would die for, but she'll never see them.
If GD2 was back in Sunderland the Mackems would be queueing up for hours to see their handiwork and perhaps a few Geordies as well. BB's tills jingling. |

YM - Please pay attention -- Cutty sark -- short shirt -------no bikini-- no knickers -- no bra. And if Varley wants to see Margaret Rutherford dressed like that -- Well, the is the Golden DREAMER so can let his imagination run wild.

Tom, thank you for ES in the picture about my presence here. Is it just me or is he generally a stirrer?

ES a stirrer? Whatever gave you that impression? As for Tom, why is he nursing his credentials? Not been up the road anywhere dodgy have we?
And, isn't it a bit defeatist for one of a medical background to broadcast that particular clinical failure? have you tried fewer artichokes, less pea mush and only a modest glass or two of stout. I think you'll find that can save on the sail resetting lark. (I believe Carter now has a Master's position but on another vessel altogether). Old shoes? you don't burn your old shoes? You realise that is an old seafaring tradition (like rum....). You'd whistle on the bridge too, I suppose.

Doesn't look like Miss Rutherford at all. More like a tiger.

Just in case anyone is remotely interested who Richard Parker is, if you haven't read "The Life of Pi", or seen the movie, I would heartily recommend you do so.

Indeed. Every Junior and Deck Cadet has trotted out that horey old chestnut since the days of sail. Nursing Credentials, say no more, from Bootle to Brisbane Jolly Jack has been in awe of SRN and SEN credentials. Promise the Bosun a pair of 36C credentials and he will be like the cat who got the cream. |

Tom, I would have thought that everyone knew who Richard Parker was. If not, well they do now. He is a lovely fellow and I am hoping that he will be tame enough for me to take him for a walk around the garden, once he has settled in to his new surroundings. I will keep you informed about this event and who would be welcome along.
